Can you tell me abit about yourself?
I'm Bee. I'm a 30....something ;O) married mother of two kidlets living in the state of Victoria in lovely Australia. I have always had an interest in art and craft on some level but since having kids and being a stay at home Mum I have started creating with a passion in my spare time.
What are your favourite materials to work with?
Just about anything and everything. I have a bad habit of starting a project after buying every supply needed, making a few and then I get another idea in my head and move on to something else and so the cycle continues. At least I know when both kids are at school and have more time, I have enough supplies to last me the next 10 years and lots of projects to go on with. I love painting, polymer clay, glitter (kindyglitz is the best stuff ever!)whatever I get my hands on. Resin is my next project.
When I was five I was convinced there was a fairy in my room! Where do you think fairies really live?!
When I was younger, I sometimes went to stay at my grandparents house in the holidays. I used to go to bed and read some of my Nanna's old books about fairies and after looking at the pictures in the books, I was convinced she had fairies houses in the back of her garden beds in the undergrowth. I used to lie in bed and imagine what they would be doing.
Are you dressing up for Halloween this year?
We don't have Halloween here really. Although we do, on the odd Halloween get maybe one lot of kids come to the door but we never have anything to give them because we don't even know it's Halloween lol.
I can see it getting more popular in the next few years though as retailers see an opportunity to make more money.
Where do you draw your inspirations from?
My Crafty friends, Flickr, Etsy and all the wonderful blogs out there inspire me to get off my butt and keep creating and trying new and different things. Some night's I can't sleep because I have so many ideas flying around my head, I get so excited and just want to get started. I end up having to get up and write them all down so I can sleep! I'm amazed at all the wonderful things people create!
Do you have any business advice for other indie artists?
Oh goodness, I'm only starting out and still trying to figure out how to make a go of it all. I'd say just keep at it like I have been. Keep plugging away, create things you love and try and get your name out there. Hopefully the sales will come with time.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
The biggest buzz I get out of life is when I make something that I put so much time, love and effort into and someone comes along and buy's it and love's it as much as I do. There is nothing else that can reward me more.
